Today is such a wonderful day to reflect what we are thankful for!  I am thankful for many many things.  Right now I am going to take the time to reflect on those things.  I am thankful for my husband..without him I would not be where I am today.  He is my rock, my heart, my soul.  He encourages me everyday…even when I am cranky :-)  I only wish I had half of his drive & courage.  He is very smart & sometimes when I’m having a bad day the things he says to encourage me…I think…where the heck did he find those words to say that.  Well he was raised by the absolute & best…most wonderful parents in the world!!!!  He is there for me with the good & the bad of my emotions & trying to have a successful business.  He is the most amazing husband & father!!!  I’m so lucky to have found my soulmate!!!!  Believe me though…it hasn’t always been a box of chocolates!!!! :-)
I am thankful for my children.  Oh yes..there are days I think…why did I have kids!  I’m not a mommy mom by no means…but as my mother-in-law would tell me…I am an AFFECTIVE mom.  I don’t let my kids get away with much.  I have NO patience & feel badly when I get frustrated with them.  My boys are GREAT kids though & I am proud to say they are MINE!!!!!!!!  Without them…life would be boring.

I am thankful for my health.  I thank God for my health.  I pray he gives me many more years of health & happiness!!!!

I am thankful for all my friends & family in my life.  When there are days that I am frustrated & down…you are there to pick me up & get me back on track.

I am thankful for my clients.  Without you all…where would my biz be!  Well…definitely not succeeding :-)  I meet new people all the time & the best part is…at the end of the day…I have made a new friend!!!!!

To all my photo buddies!  I am thankful for you all in my life.  I have made quite the friendships over the past few years on my photo journey.  Some of you I have met & others…have solely been online friendships…which one day I hope to meet you.

God…I am thankful for him.  Without him..I wouldn’t even be here.  He has seen me through all the hardships & the blessings in my life!

Life is like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re gonna get.  I love Forrest Gump..haha!

Or we could say…. Life is like a basketball….you never know if you’re gonna make it!    hahahaha..that one makes me laugh…my son Dakotah come in the house the other day & said that to me.  I said..where did you hear that from…he said..Tanner(our neighbor boy)!  The boys were outside playing basketball….hmmm..guess talking about life..LOL!!!!

Incase I’ve forgotten anyone…EVERYONE & EVERYBODY I am THANKFUL for in MY life!!!!!!!!!!

hol

A shot I took at a wedding.  They are nephew’s of the bride & she bought them those cool shades!  Oh man did this attire ever fit their personalities!!!!  To the parents of these boys & their family….we love you!!!!!!!!!

Now for business stuff.  Oakstream Photography will be closed till Monday.  No phone calls or emails will be returned till next week!  I am taking this time to spend with MY family!!!!  Hope everyone has a great day!!!!!

Twilight Movie…………

November 23, 2008

twilight-movie-bella-edward

Well I just got home from a girls night out eating at Costa Vida & then sitting on the floor for 2 hours at the theater waiting to watch the anticipated movie ‘Twilight’.

Yeah my girlfriends may have sore bums, sore hips & hurt backs from sitting for SOOOOOOOOOOO long, BUT I was ADIMANT that I was NOT going to sit in the VERY front row at the theater with a broken neck trying to watch this movie…sooo we showed up EARLY!..hahaha!!!  Thanks girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been reading A LOT about what people think of the movie & I’ve heard great things & not so great things.  Here are MY thoughts………

I completely LOVE the books.  I completely LIKE the movie.  Not the greatest movie ever, but VERY likeable & yeah I’ll buy the DVD when it comes out just so I can drool over Edward!!!!!

I loved watching Bella & Edward….I just did.  They made my heart melt!!!!!!

Charlie was GREAT!  He played the part very well.  So did the high school kids.  Pretty much in my opinion everything & everyone played their parts great & I liked the cast.

The things that BUGGED me & I thought RETARDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edward holding his nose when Bella walked in the science lab & the look on his face.

The crystals when the sun shined on Edward….TOTALLY & UTTERLY I did NOT like that part & it was actually THE WORST part of the WHOLE movie I did NOT like!!!!!!!  I should of shut my eyes on that scene..haha!!!!

Jacob…the nose has got to go!  I about fell out of my chair when I saw him….oh so not cute!  It’s the nose!  YUCK!!!! :-)
I think those were the worst parts!

Well it’s been a fantastic night, but I am off to dream land now.

Ta ta for now…………………..

Annie Cannon: So we pretty much agree with everything except I LOVE Jacob! it's not the nose that needs to go, it's the hair! I love his smile! The cheap fake CGI stuff has got to improve! hey at least you got to sit inside the theater, i had to stand out there for 1.5 in the COLD NIGHT! It was a fun movie though! Hubby wants to go see it again, makes me want to question this masculinity..... ahahahhaha

Tara: I loved it as well!! And I agree with the skin glowing, the nose holding (that was just pathetic) and also the flashbacks bugged as well. So those are my thoughts on it! But glad you liked it as well!

amanda: OH MY HECK! The movie was the best! I was so impressed after hearing so much bad stuff about it! YAY!

Heather: That is so funny. I haven't read the book or seen the movie but it has actually been kinda fun watching everyone else be so excited. I have heard a lot of people laughing during the movie and thought it was corny! :) Who cares as long as there is some hotness, right? ;) Heeheehee

aekstrom: Yeah the flashbacks were weird too!!! But like I said..I'll still buy the DVD..haha! I like Edward!!!!!!!!!!! Heather....OMGOSH people were laughing & that was fine cause there were a few parts I laughed on, BUT OH MY HECK there was some lady there & she had the most ANNOYING FREAKIN LAUGH I have EVER heard & it ECHOED through the theather. NOW..THAT was worse than the dang movie...hahahahahaha! People were laughing & that was fine, BUT for reals...this one chick...needed duct tape..LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!

Leslie: Hahah I love your review. I liked it too! We pretty much agree on everything. They really jsut shouldn't have done the meadow scene at ALL. Horrible stuff. But overall, I left the movie happy so it wasn't as bad as everyone told me it would be!

tiffany izatt: Ha Ha HA, great review! My favorite part was the baseball game, very Hollywood movie. The rest not so much Hollywood movie. Edward was socially inept the whole movie, like he didn't know how to act. And what about Carslile when we first saw him...umm can I say TOO much makeup...LOL I will see it again with Dustin and maybe my opinion will change. I too agree with you on Edward in the sun, they could have done better

Brittany M: So I have seen pictures of the guy who plays Jacob in real life, and his nose actually looks alright with his short hair. I think that it just looked really bad with the fake long hair. I have also heard it is better the second time around, so I might have to go see it again. At least it will be worth the money to see Edward again, ha ha!! I thought he was HOT!! Thanks for a fun night, we all need to go out more often!

Ericha: I agree with you too! I kinda was a bit disappointed though...I just read the books about 2 weeks ago (i'm currently on book 4 and should be done by Friday, at the latest) ...I think because the story was so fresh in mind I was let down by certain scenes not being in the film. I understand that it's difficult to put 500 pages into a 2 hour film and that the movies are never as good as the books but still.... I will definitely buy the dvd though when it comes out. The cast did a great job though. Jasper was not at all what I expected him to look like though lol

Vanessa: haha! it was fun to read what you thought. I am not as crazy as everyone else. But, I did enjoy it. I wouldn't say it was the best ever, but it was fun to watch. I agree with the nose holding...a little over the top! And I totally agree on the Jacob nose thing! I wanted him to be so much cuter! Oh, and yes the shinny bod...a little much, but all in all it was fun!

brooke: ah good girl..your like me..I went for edward and got what I went for..the dinner seen is my favorite..I like just cause it playes my favorite song haha and jacob..here here little piggy

Melly: Those look awesome! I love the bright colors!

Andrea: Hey it's "the mom" from these pictures. We are really happy with Alisha and these shots. Especially since our oldest daughter fell and cut her knees and hands at the beginning of the shoot and was crying and upset most of the time. It is amazing Alisha got some great shots of her as well. My favorite thing of all is how several sides of my younger daughters personality were captured perfectly. On the brightness... my husband was determined the girls were in bright colors, but not matching or from the same collections, they had to be in skirts/dresses but not formal etc... etc... He had a definate goal in mind. I wasn't sure if I would ever find the right clothes. It was suprisingly and excrutiatingly hard to find bright colors that didn't match but still worked together. I actually found several bright pieces for both kids then laid them out on the floor looking for which colors could work together and which ones were equally dressy/casual etc... Then I returned what we didn't want. All of the shopping frustration was worth it though, because I'm thrilled with the result. I think it really worked to have us boring adults in more subtle colors so the kids really stand out. I'm also glad that we decided not to wear black & white (his shirt is actually a pale blue).

amanda: Your colors are incredible! I love the cute little kiddos! Oh and by the way. I heard the Twilight movie sucks :(

rachel brooke: this location is pretty much AWESOME! Great colors in your shots.

DSR: What a great session! I'm glad you posted as much as you did so that we could all see the amazing variety of cool shots you got! I love the "ta-da" picture too!

tiffany izatt: wonderful shots...love them!

Kari: I love the bold color in these shots. I also love that your processing tends to lend itself to the image like the single image of the cutie with the hat on. You processed it differently and that processing really suits that particular image. The "ta-da" one is awesome though!

ohana photographers: i love the first image!!!!!!
