Wow I tell ya life has been a whirl wind the past few weeks. 

Our Christmas was an absolute WONDERFUL Christmas in Colorado.  Talk about a MAGICAL Christmas….ours was!  We are so blessed!!!!!

I can’t believe 2008 is almost gone.  What a terrific year it has been.  I can’t wait to see what 2009 brings.

To start off my 2009 year…..remember the post I made about something WAY exciting happening!  Well I can finally share the news!  I have been PUBLISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I was recently published in the Rocky Mountain Bride  magazine.  Not only was my bride & groom’s story published in the magazine but their image was also chosen as the cover shot for the magazine!!!!!!!  I was head over heels when I heard this was happening!!!!!  I think my heart skipped some beats & I may of about passed out…hahaha!  When I get a chance I’ll take pics of the inside of the magazine of their story.  This would be the bride & groom’s pics!

I also have a new logo.  Thank you to On The Spot Studio for taking on this project when I had NO IDEA what I wanted for my logo!!!!!!  I just knew I wanted something FUN..yet ME…yet NOT a logo you see EVERYWHERE!!!!!!  I think she did a great job coming up with this!!!

A little about my biz name…for all those that do not know why I chose the name OAKSTREAM PHOTOGRAPHY.  OAKSTREAM actually means EKSTROM in Swedish…..sooo OAKSTREAM would actually be my last name….there ya have it…the meaning :-)  On my logo…the tree is an abstract with the swoosh being a stream under the name!  I am FUN & I thought this was pretty clever…fun looking :-) 

More new things coming up……I’m getting a new blog, new pricing, new marketing materials, created some amazingly gorgeous albums, partnering up with Backstrom Events one of the coordinators lives here in Utah & services all this area & she is SUPER D DUPER cool!  I love working with anyone when our personalities click.  She loves fun & awesome cool out of the box wedding planning…so give Laurel a call to plan your wedding so all you have to do is sit back & do NOTHING!!!!!!!!! 

A new thing added to my biz this year will be for my bride & groom’s.  It’s something spectacular, fun, crazy & off the wall!  Ohhhh I can’t wait to show the pics of these!!!!!!

Ok Jared…here are a couple pics to suffice you till I get home & back to work in January :-)  I know it’s painful to wait…hahahaha! 

Adri was my intern last year.  I really wasn’t sure about having an intern as all my photography biz is done at my home & I wasn’t quite sure of having someone come to my home everyday!  Well I’m soo happy that I accepted because I gained a GREAT FRIEND that I have the absolute best time with & she keeps me young…LOL!!!!!!  I love hanging out with her…she’s hilarious & it’s funny how our personalities match!  She can totally read my mind!  I’m so happy to have a life long friend & to be a part of her family!

Mr. Jared is in the Airforce & when he was home for Thanksgiving Adri wanted pics of them together!  I was totally excited because she knows my style & completely knows how to work the camera….poor Jared…he was just a prop…LOL!!!!  We had a GREAT day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t wait to post more from this session…it is soooooooooooooooooo AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I’ve been a blog slacker.  Tis the season to be way too busy for bloggin…hahahaha!!!!!  I’m getting way excited because we are leaving Friday to Colorado for the holidays & I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I’m soooo excited to get away from here & just be with family & play :-)  My mother & father-in-law are being busy little bees getting ready for their children & grandchildren & us daughter-in-laws….to come home for Christmas!  I have no idea what days we’re doing what, but there is sledding, ice skating, ice fishing, caroling for starters on the agenda.  A fantastic Christmas Eve dinner prepared by my mother-in-law & my mother.  My brother will be coming to join us for the festivities!  It’s just simply going to be a grand ol Christmas this year & I really can’t stand to wait till we’re there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My blog posts are way behind & not sure if I’ll get a chance to post what I want.  So please don’t fret if you’ve not seen your pictures on here.  I will post them when I can…..even if it’s after the new year since I’ll be leaving & won’t have my pictures with me
Here is our little cousin.  He is a riot!  I tell you what this kid is on the go NON STOP!  I feel for his momma & dadda!  He’s a ball of ENERGY!    I love the pics I got of him cause it is soo his personality!  He is a HUGE HUGE HUGE Aggies fan & you should hear him talk when we all say to him…..& it’s another Aggie’s…………….he says….FIRST DOWN……in this gruff big boy voice.  It is absolutely hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We love you Colie, Zach & Colin!  We’ll celebrate Christmas with ya’ll when we get home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Have a most terrific Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to give a quick note regarding senior sessions.  I shoot senior sessions ANYTIME of the year…so if you are wanting a senior session & want to be in the snow..don’t hesitate to give me a call.  We can totally do your session at a ski resort, in the snow…whatever you want!!!!  The cold doesn’t stop me!!!!!!  If this is what you want then you need to start calling NOW to get on the books beginning January 1, 2009.  I take a very limited # of senior sessions in the spring as it’s a crazy time of year for weddings too & if you don’t want to miss out on the most amazing experience of having Oakstream Photography take your senior pictures where you can have your personality shine & not the boring ol traditional look here & say CHEESE look then call NOW to book your session before it’s too late!!!!
